Some regions of the country have been recognized as FMD-free (without and with vaccination). The exception being the border regions where live cattle
are still crossing illegally from Venezuela and Ecuador.
There are five Departments (states) free of Classical Swine fever (CSF) but again, live hogs are also crossing illegally the border with Venezuela and
Ecuador.
U.S. imported beef has an 80% tariff while beef offal has a 70% tariff.
USA pork products have a 20% tariff.
