Re: Prescribed Standards for β-Agonist Chemicals Group Contamination in Foods.

Apparently, the usage of β-Agonist chemicals group, which are used for dilation of trachea, relief asthma in human, in food production chains which is misused such as, use for decreasing fat and increasing meat of swine, etc. For the protection of consumers’ s health from the hazard of the
stipulated misused chemicals, it deems necessary to prescribe standards for β-Agonist chemical groups contamination in foods.
By the virtue of provisions of Section 5 and 6(3) and (9) of the Food Act B.E. 2522 (1979), in which contain provisions in relation to the restriction of Rights and Liberties of the Persons, in respect of which Section 29 and in conjunction with Section 35, Section 48 and Section 50 of the Constitution
of the Kingdom of Thailand so permit by virtue of provisions of law; the Minister of Public Health hereby issues the notification as follows:
Clause 1. Prescribed that all food products shall not be detected of contamination of β-
Agonist chemical groups and its salts, including substances which are derived from its metabolites.
The analysis for contamination of β-Agonist as stipulated in the first phrase shall follow to the criteria, conditions and analytical methods which are prescribed by the Food and Drug Administration by the approval of the Food committee.
