• The January WASDE report shows fiscal year (FY) 2014 WTO raw sugar tariff-rate quota (TRQ) shortfalls projected at 250,000 short tons raw value, unchanged from December. No information available about specific countries.
• The FTA TRQ shortfalls for Colombia, CAFTA-DR, Panama and Peru totaled 12,949 metric tons raw value in calendar year 2013.
• On January 9, the third tranche of the FY 2014 specialty sugar TRQ opened for 21,000 metric tons raw value. A valid specialty sugar certificate must accompany the imported sugar.
