Thanks to FAS Lima’s intervention, Peru has granted market access to U.S.-origin pork back fat and skin (Harmonized System – HS code 0209.10.90). SENASA, Peru’s sanitary authority, published in the official gazette (El Peruano) on March 5, 2014, Directorial Resolution 0003-2014-MINAGRISENASA-DSA specifying sanitary import requirements for this product. Shipments arriving in Peru must count with a SENASA issued import permit, as well as with an official U.S. phytosanitary certificate. An unofficial translation of the resolution is contained herein.
