In December 2013 FAS Tel Aviv facilitated the release of 9 containers of New York apples detained at Haifa port and successfully advocated for the entry of an additional 29 containers already en route. The shipments were refused entry due to unauthorized cold treatment process prior to shipping. Total estimated value of the apple shipments was USD 1,250,000.
