MY2014/15 wheat area is estimated at 550,000 hectares (HA), approximately 8 percent lower than last year. Wheat production is forecast at 2.4 million metric tons (MT), assuming normal weather.MY2014/15 corn planting intentions are forecast at 1.3 million HA, slightly higher than the previous year. Corn production is projected at 6.8 million MT. From October 2013 to February 2014, Serbia exported 1 million MT of wheat due to the excellent wheat quality and competitive price compared to other countries in the region.
