The Secretariat of Agriculture (SAGARPA) published in the Diario Oficial (Federal Register), on April 8, 2014 a proposed modification to NOM-032-FITO that establishes requirements and phytosanitary specifications to prepare studies of the biological effectiveness of agricultural pesticides. Comments are due in Spanish within the next 60 calendar days after publication (June 7, 2014). NOM-032 is the NOM that guides pesticide efficacy studies in Mexico, which is a critical aspect of pesticide use registration.
