Effective June 17, 2014 Hong Kong market fully opens to U.S. beef. Additional beef cuts allowed access to Hong Kong include bone-in beef derived from cattle over thirty months of age, and ground beef and offal regardless of age. All federally registered plants are eligible to export beef products to Hong Kong. Export Verification (EV) program for Hong Kong no longer is necessary for product produced on or after June 17. Bone-in beef with vertebral column derived from cattle over 30 months of age and tonsils and distal ileum of cattle of all age, which are considered as specified risk materials, remain as ineligible products for Hong Kong.
