The Tunisian legislation on biotechnology, drafted before the revolution, has been indefinitely postponed. The new general post revolution environment created a long list of priority for the government which makes unlikely any legislation to be approved until the election of a new parliament by the end of the year. Meanwhile, imports of biotech products into Tunisia will continue to be handled in a manner similar to that of conventional agricultural products.
