Biotech regulation has been virtually non-existent in the Caribbean. However, that may change in the years ahead as twelve Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries move forward with a United Nations Environment Programme/Global Environment Facility (UNEP/GEF) Regional Project for Implementing National Biosafety Frameworks (NBFs) in the Caribbean.
