An Act



To amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act with respect to the safety of the food supply. <<NOTE: Jan. 4, 2011 - [H.R. 2751]>>

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, <<NOTE: FDA Food Safety Modernization Act.>>



SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE; REFERENCES; TABLE OF CONTENTS.
(a) <<NOTE: 21 USC 2201 note.>> Short Title.--This Act may be cited as the "FDA Food Safety Modernization Act".
(b) References.--Except as otherwise specified, whenever in this Act an amendment is expressed in terms of an amendment to a section or other provision, the reference shall be considered to be made to a section or other provision of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (21 U.S.C. 301 et seq.).
