The Secretary of State is a Minister designated(a) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(b) in relation to the packaging of products.
Accordingly, the Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of that Act:
Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Weights and Measures (Specified Quantities) (Prepacked Products) Regulations 2009 and come into force on 11th April 2009.
