INTERPRETATION
1. (1) The following definitions apply in this Marketing Aut“emulsifying, gelling, stabilizing or thickening agent” means a food additive that is
used to
(a) form or maintain a uniform emulsion of two or more phases in a food;
(b) impart a particular food texture through the formation of a gel;
(c) maintain a uniform dispersion of two or more ingredients in a food; or
(d) modify the viscosity of a food.horization
“List” means the List of Permitted Emulsifying, Gelling, Stabilizing or Thickening Agents published by the Department of Health on its website, as amended from time to time.
