Total EU-28 oilseed production for marketing year (MY) 2014/15 is expected to reach 31.3 million metric tons
(MMT), a decrease of 0.6 percent year-on-year. Rapeseed production is forecast to increase by 0.5 MMT to a
record of 21.6 MMT. Sunflower production is anticipated to be down by 0.8 MMT at 7.9 MMT. Ample global soy
supplies, combined with a growing European poultry and swine sectors, are expected to drive the use of soybean
meal in animal feed.
