A. Apparatus
(a) Piercing apparatus—(1) For bottles.—Consists of gas-tight packing box and fastening for adjustment over container, and hollow spike connected to accurate pressure gage and outlet valve. Check gages frequently. (2) For cans.—Consists of metal frame in which can is placed. Top of apparatus, which is pressed or screwed down and locked over can top, contains hollow spike surrounded by compressible rubber sealing plug; hollow spike leads to accurate pressure gage and outlet valve. (One apparatus, adjustable for use with both bottles and cans, may be used.)
