Final Action
A. Preparation of Glassware
Wash all glassware with chromic acid cleaning solution, rinse with tap H2O ³ 4 times, and finally rinse with H2O at least twice. Thoroughly dry digestion flasks. (Caution: Na2Cr2O7–H2SO4 can cause severe burns.)
B. Reagents
(a) Acetate buffer solution.—Dissolve 68 g NaCH3COO×3H2O in 500 mL 1M CH3COOH and dilute to 1 L with H2O.
(b) Fehling solution.—Standardize as in 923.09 (see 44.1.15). Check solution from time to time by determining its oxidizing value against standard solution of invert sugar, 923.09A(c) (see 44.1.15), as in 923.09A (see 44.1.15).
