Introduction
Quality Labeling Standard for Fishery Products
(Notification No. 516 of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries dated March 31, 2000)
(Scope of Application)
Article 1. This standard shall apply to Fishery Products set forth in the Attached Table of the Quality Labeling Standard for Perishable Foods (Notification No.514 of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries dated March 31, 2000).
(Definitions)
Article 2. In this standard, the terms “cultivation” in this standard means the raising of young fishes by feeding for the purpose of increasing their weight or improving the quality.
(Matters to be Labeled)
Article 3. The matters to be labeled on the quality of the fishery product by distributors shall be as below in addition to those set forth in Article 3 of Quality Labeling Standard for Perishable Foods:
(1) In the case that the product is one subjected to freezing, the labeling to that effect
(2) In the case that the product is one that has been cultured, the labeling to that effect
